David Okiki Amayo Jr. was born into a family of public service. The understanding it gave him was simple: the most powerful thing a person can do for a continent is build something that outlasts them.
He spent his formative years across Kenya, South Africa and the United Kingdom, studying International Relations and Development Studies at the University of Westminster in London before entering a professional career that spanned two continents and several disciplines. He contributed to the strategic establishment of Dubai Holding's Jumeirah Living brand, conceived the architecture for Kenya's Hustler Fund (a micro-lending initiative that mobilised over half a billion dollars and reached more than 20 million Kenyans), developed an insurance framework for the Boda Boda Owners Association of Kenya covering over 500,000 riders, and led market penetration strategy for FMCG brands across the continent.
Each of these experiences taught the same lesson: Africa's problems are not problems of resources or intelligence. They are problems of architecture. The continent has extraordinary wealth, extraordinary people, and an extraordinary absence of institutions built to keep that wealth on the continent and in the hands of its people. The Ndege Group is his answer to that absence.
Also known as Trevor and fondly as 'Papa,' he is the grandson of the late KANU Chairman David Okiki Amayo, who served Kenya under President Daniel arap Moi, and of the late philanthropist Dr. Julia Amayo. He carries that lineage with the gravity it demands: not as a credential, but as a standard.
Beyond the work, he is a yachtsman, an equestrian, and an incorrigible chaser of sunsets. He believes that a person who cannot be still has nothing to offer the world, and that the most sovereign thing a human being can do is find beauty in the ordinary. He applies both convictions equally to the building of institutions.
Kilimanjaro.
Freestanding.
Sovereign.
At 5,895 metres, Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest freestanding mountain on earth and Africa's highest peak. It rises from the Tanzanian plains entirely on its own terms, connected to nothing, dependent on nothing, and visible from hundreds of kilometres away.
The Ndege Group chose Kilimanjaro as its institutional mascot because the mountain is the most accurate metaphor in nature for what this organisation stands for. It does not lean on a range. It does not derive its height from adjacency to something else. It simply rises, rooted in African soil, to a summit that belongs to no other continent on earth.
This is what ASDT® is building: an institution that stands on its own foundations, draws its authority from its own architecture, and derives its mandate from the continent whose wealth it exists to steward. The African Federation is not a coalition of dependencies. It is a freestanding structure, sovereign at every layer, visible from every direction, and built to last across generations.
Kilimanjaro also carries a lesson in patience. It did not become the highest point in Africa overnight. It formed over millions of years of tectonic pressure, fire, and cooling. Good institutions are built the same way: under pressure, shaped by necessity, and hardened into permanence by time and will.

Full I.P. Registry →The primary research contribution. A 52-page institutional architecture for continental African economic and defence integration, addressing the mechanisms and failure modes of sixty years of continental monetary integration attempts. Version 3.1: The Jurisprudential Treatise. Unveiled at the Sandton Symposium 2025. Downloaded by over 100 institutions and engaged by ministerial representatives from eleven nations.
Introduces the Sovereign Asset Parity Index (SAPI) and the Mineral-Adjusted Creditworthiness Assessment (MACA) as corrective analytical frameworks for the systematic undervaluation of African sovereign creditworthiness. The continental SAPI of 33.7 establishes that Africa holds $38.8 trillion in verified sovereign assets against $1.152 trillion in external sovereign debt. The Architecture
of the
Trust
Africa's Sovereign Development Trust® is a permanent, irrevocable purpose trust under Seychelles law. Its governance architecture is designed for longevity, accountability, and freedom from single-point capture. Each governing body operates under the African Charter© as its constitutional constraint.
Fiduciary Oversight
The Board of Trustees holds ultimate fiduciary authority over the Trust and its assets. Its members are drawn from across the continent's legal, financial, and governance disciplines. The Board is in advanced stages of formation, with appointments proceeding in alignment with the Trust's operational milestones.
Constitutional Stewardship
The Board of Guardians holds constitutional oversight, ensuring that every action of the Trust remains aligned with the African Charter© and the foundational purpose for which it was established. Its role is to safeguard the institution against drift, capture, and dilution of mandate.
Operational Execution
Each sovereign entity, mandate, fund, and enterprise arm of ASDT® operates as a distinct special-purpose vehicle or departmental brand under the Trust's umbrella. The Management Boards overseeing these structures are being constituted in line with the activation schedule for each project and mandate.
Institutional Memory
The Secretariat infrastructure of the Trust and its sovereign entities serves as the institutional memory and administrative backbone of the Federation. Central and entity-level Secretariats are being established in Nairobi and across key continental jurisdictions as operational phases proceed.
Every project, mandate, fund, and tender within the ASDT® portfolio is an SPV, partnership arrangement, or departmental brand of the Trust, operating under the constitutional governance of the African Charter© and the operational protocols of the African Federation Treaty Framework©. The Trust is at an advanced stage of operationalising all projects, mandates and tenders. The architecture is complete. The institutions are forming. The mandate is live.
The Structure
of the
Federation
Authority flows downward from the Trust. Accountability flows upward from the operating entities. Every layer has a defined mandate and a defined relationship to the layers above and below it. The architecture is complete. The institutions are forming.
